Qlikview 10 Installation

Hi,

I am not able to install the Qlikview 10 installation. It is showing the Windows installer commands and after that it is getting terminated. Do i need to install through windows installer only? Please let me know the installation process..

Hi,

QV10 needs latest upgrades of OS so try to download windows updates along with installer and .NET framework 4.0. Also if you have QV9 then install QV10 in seperate folder.

I'm using Windows XP SP3, .NET Framework 3.5 SP1, windows installer 4.5 and 32 bit QV 10. It's working fine.

Hi John,

Got any idea about the installation?????

A couple of things I have come across

Local install team suspect something with your Windows Installer service. You have a very similar config to the one I have on my laptop - same version of installer, .NET. If I DISABLE the Windows Installer service I see this error message when running the EXE

Re-enabling (set thru Services Management to 'Manual') the Windows Installer service and all should be fine.

Another error reported thru our support line has had to do with the rights to write to the TEMP directory on your machine. If not enabled it has been reporting error 1152 and terminating the install process.

Can you install any other MSI?

Hi John,

Thanks for the response.

Actually i am not getting the error message as you have mentioned.I am able to install the Qlikview version 9.00 without any issues. It is working perfectly fine. Only the Qlikview Version 10 is not getting installed. Please suggest.

V9 and V10 are different install technologies. Only V10 is delivered as an MSI. So the fact V9 installs ok has no bearing on V10. Please try

1. Install of the same EXE on a different machine

2. Install a different MSI on this machine

Have you confirmed that you can write to your TEMP directory? Did you ever install V10 Beta on this machine? Are you seeing any logs from the Windows Install service?

Hi John,

I have tried installation in the different machine and it is working fine. Also i have tried installing QlikView 9.0 SRS 5 and QlikView 10 in the same system. Both have got installed sucessfully without any errors and working fine. Thanks for your suggestions and support.
