SOLVED: Qlikview 10 SR1 WebView is not compatible with Internet Explorer 9

EDIT: If you're experiencing problems with WebView in Qlikview Desktop 10 SR1 it might be because you're using internet explorer 9. IE9 is not supported by Qlikview.

Hi all.

So I updated to SR1 on my developer/desktop environment and it seems like the WebView is broken for me.

I removed all extensions as this is often the problem w/ a broken WebView but I'm still getting this error message:

"An error has occured[...]

Line: 1039
Char: 9
Error: Object doesn't support this property or method
Code: 0
URL: http://qlikview/QvAjaxZfc/QvAjax.js"

To replicate this:
Open a new document in QV 10 SR Desktop and click on the WebView button.

Anyone experienced anything like it?

After some email correspondence with the Qlikview Support I could narrow the problem down to me using Internet Explorer 9 Beta.

So anyone who uses Internet explorer 9 and wants WebView to work might need to downgrade to Internet explorer 8.

To downgrade IE in Windows 7, follow the steps in this post: http://www.intowindows.com/how-to-uninstall-internet-explorer-9-platform-preview/

Cheers,

Hi,

Reinstalling QlikView with the repair option solved my issues with WebView.

I installed Visual Studio and SQL Server on my pc, they seemed to break WebView.
