Section access helps in protecting a qvw from unauthorized access, but the qvd still has the info ..Is it possible to lock a qvd?

Hi,

I wanted to know if its possible to lock a qvd.The reason why I want to know is,I used section access in a qvw to make sure its secure.

Now that the all the sensitive data is present in the qvd ,anybody can get the information from the qvd.Even though the qvw is protected.

How can I lock the source file (Excel and qvd)?

If yes then how ?

if they are on a server you can use windows authorization on folders and/or files

another way is to maintain your data in qvw, not qvd (but you can binary load from one qvw only)

Hi,

QVD cannot be locked using Section Access.  Generally QVDs is on server, so unauthorized persons will not have access to this files, only Administrators have access to the servers. 

If you do not want to create QVDs then load the data into Qlikview file and using Binary load the load can be loaded into another qlikview file or maintain the script and UI in the same file.
