Waterfall Comparison

I'm trying to do a waterfall that shows the difference between this period and last period.

I have a count of sites for last period of 100 and this period of 98. Obviously that is a difference of -2 but is made up of taking on an additional 4 sites and disposing of 6 sites. How do I count the number of disposals last period and count the number of additions this period?

My data looks like this:

Site No     YearMonth

1               201502

2               201502

3               201502

4               201502

5               201502

1               201503

2               201503

3               201503

6               201503

This example would show 2 disposals (site 4 and 5) and 1 addition (site 6).

My goal is to allow the user to select which periods they want to compare but hopefully I'll be able to adjust the formula to allow this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks Gysbert but I'm looking for a Waterfall chart so need to remove the dimension. When that happens, the expressions don't return the correct results.

Hi Keith, I modified a bit the document provided by Gysbert so you can remove the dimension.

Thanks Ruben.

I can see yours worked in the example but I couldn't get it to apply to my model.

Thanks Gysbert it works exactly as I needed when I adjust to my app.

I spent all day trying to get it to work and you've cracked it in a few minutes! Perfect work.

Thanks again
