What should I do next of installing QVS.

Hi,

I finally finished installing QVS, and activated QVS Server license.

I'd like to publish my .qvw which was built in Desktop, but I don't know where is default document root in QVS...

Access Point shows few default .qvw documents, but my QV Desktop [File]->[Open from server] shows no documents...

Does anyone have manual to "USE" QVS? I don't need the document for "INSTALLING" QVS.

Thank you.

Hi Motoyasu,

Basic steps for publishing a document (assuming you are not also using the Publisher component) are as follows:

If you have access to the QlikView management console the navigate to http://<your qlikview server>:4780/qmc.  From there:

  • Select System tab
  • Expand the QlikView servers group
  • Select your server
  • Click on the Folders tab (right side)
  • Note the folders under the Documents Folders section

You can save your qvw into any of the folders seen in the last point and the model should then be visible via AccessPoint (depending on security).  You can do a save as from QlikView desktop or place the file via Windows explorer.

In relation to you not seeing any documents when performing an Open in server action then this may be licence related eg you may need to allocate yourself a named user licence or if you are using document CALs then I don't think this option works as expected (I stand to be corrected on this point).

The best starting point for a complete overview is Qlik help (https://help.qlik.com/en-US/qlikview/November2017/Content/Home.htm).  From there have a look at the Administering QlikView section or download one of the PDFs under the Guide section.

Hope this helps.
