As both of the products are bundled together, where the publisher part is activated with a separate licence, the functions are close connected. Where the server is responsible for, just like the QlikView Desktop, calculations and handle of the QlikView applications are the publishers job to handling scheduled reloads of the data as well as distributing QlikView files. Distribution points can e.g be a QlikView server (where the application will be available on the access point) but could also a file share or a mailing group.
