Custom Read Error while connecting to SAP HANA

Hi,

I need to connect to SAP HANA. I am trying to do this using a JDBC connector and i have followed the steps shown in this video

QlikView Connect and Direct Discovery with SAP HANA - YouTube

However, when i click on the Select option in the edit script i am getting a 'Custom Read Failed' error.

Could someone help me with this?

Regards,

Greeshma

Hi Greeshma,

this is probably a configuration problem. You can contact me directly: ralf.becher@tiq-solutions.de

However, there is an ODBC driver for SAP HANA you should try first.

I don't know and this is a Qlik forum, not SAP..

Hi Greeshma,

just try to enter your connection/user/pass by pressing connect and then enter your sql by hand.

Notice: You have to configure your profile to use PreparedStatements (Advanced Settings) which is not mentioned in the video.

Best regards

Sven

Hello Greeshma,

you could get the SAP HANA ODBC driver by installing the SAP HANA Client.

With this the HDBODBC driver will be installed and could be used to create an ODBC connection.

There seems to be an effect that you have to logon or accept the credentials each time you reload so you can't use this to reload via tasks.

Can anyone confirm this or is there an workaround?

Thanks in advance for any hint

Regards,

Tobias
