Discussion board for collaboration related to QlikView Connectors.
Hello everybody,
I'd like to be able to connect to Oracle SAP R3 tables and I need to know if I can do it without the need of a SAP connector.
It is just for accessing tables/views using a normal ODBC connection.
Many thanks for your reply.
João
Yes,
You can extract data from SAP R/3 Without SAP Connector.
Hi,
in most cases you are breaking the license agreement with SAP if you use ODBC. It is also not possible to download Cluster and Pool tables, like for example BSEG.

Without ODBC, SAP Connector you can also extract data from SAP R/3.
I alredy know some client who implemented this scenario.
Hi:
Please more details about this.
I have a customer with SAP 4.6c.
Thanks in advance.
César.
Dear Cesar,
Process is like this
1) Write abap program which create csv file of sap table.
2) Same that CSV file in common location between SAP server and Qlikview Server
3) Qlikview can load that csv in application or you can save QVD of that data.
I know some SAP customer who implemented this scenario and it work fine for them.
still if you have any query pls reply me.
Right!!. How i was thought in BI SAP Business Warahouse...complicate my life
But,
1. Program ABAP Extractor.
2. Run in Background in programmed way ( for day o for hours ).
3. Save in shared directory in server.
next, execute Qlikview scripts .
Well, is clear.
Thanks very much Sunil.
Dear Ceasar,
Process is same like SAP QV Connector. But in this case you can save cost.
Sunil jain's advice is correct. instead of connecting to sap over and over you can store the selected table(s) in a qvd file and load those fields from the qvd files to qlikview. if you have changes on those tables(e.g updated some fields or added new data) you can use incremental load so that you don't have to load all the data all over again instead you will load only those modified data or new data. with this process the extraction of data from SAP is faster.
Dear Mongkz,
You are absolutely true. Otherwise to manage complex data warehouse is not possible.
