Hello all,
Any idea/ experience about how to extract data from SRM to QlikView?
We will try via SAP Connector but not sure if it will work.

Hi Serhan,
at first you should find out from which SAP objects the data should be extracted.
Is it from a Table, a function Module, an extractor or another object type.
After that you choose the right component for the SAP data source.
I'm working with Xtract QV to load our SAP data to QlikView. But the same is valid for the Qlik SAP Connector.
Hello Khoder,
If it is,
Table --> SAPConnector.dll,
Extractor --> SAPEXTConnector.dll
....
What about function module? What kind of source is that? Any more info about SRM system is general appreciated.

Hi Naveen,
We did not need to connect to SRM directly in the end. Turned out they had the same data in BW as well.

Hi Serhan
SRM is a part of NetWeaver so the SAP Connector should be able to connect to it.
In order to extract the data you would need to identify where/how it's stored and choose the kind of connectivity accordingly (Table/View, SAP Query, Report, BAPI, Extractor etc..)
Yaniv
Hi Yaniv,
That is the question actually. Which connector and how?

Not sure if there's a Qlik Template for SRM so you would need to identify where your data is stored. For example, if the data resides in a table, you would need to extract it with the SQL connector. Or if the data required is based on the results of a SAP Query - you would need to extract it with the Query connector.
Yaniv
Hi Yaniv,
Thanks for your answer.
I used SQL Connector a lot; I am not new to SAP, BW or SAP Query connections. But SRM has a different structure as far as I am told. I am not familiar with SRM (seems like rarely people are).
So does Qlik has any previous experience/ project etc. in order to connect to that structure ? Does that structure vary (because you are talking about different connections) ? Isn't it a different module like MM, PP etc.? If it is a module we should be able to connect it via SQL Connector I suppose. If not, how to connect ?
I hope I elaborated enough.
Best Regards
