Hi all,
I would like to extract data from salesforce using the salesforce connector v12.
Using the connector in QV, I am being asked for the user, password and the security token.
Unfortunately, our IT did not enable the security token and is not willing/able to enable it as it would change the account details for all SFDC user.
But without the security token the connector in QV does not work.
Can you help me solve this problem?

Hire a new IT guy. There is no way to extract data using the web service api without the token.

thanks for the answer. There actually is a way: Use the old Connector that did not ask for the security token
It is definitely not a good option, though ...

Did you ever use the v11 (or earlier) connector without security token? I mean, did it work without your IT department setting up the token? My company did have the tokens set up and had to use it with the v11 connector.

Hi John,
for some reason our client did not enable the security token feature when they transferred the system from a test to a live version.
Thus, we used an older version of the QV salesforce connector (v11) that did not require the security token.
This is definitely not best practice but was the only option in this situation.

Just type the last letter of your password in the token field and it will work
(and indeed, this v12 is worse than v11....)
For anyone using the connector vs. 11 without tokens, you need to upgrade soon, because SalesForce will shutdown the api that the old connector uses in Q1 2016.
