Hi Experts,
I have a project with SAP, the customer has deployed SAP Modules as mentioned below:
The back-end of SAP is DB2.
My question here, which SAP connector will be suitable for these inputs above? Additionally, what is the normal expected days to implement QlikView with these Modules above.
Thanks in advance.
Best,
Peter
The best SAP Connector doesn't really depend on the SAP module you want to develop documents for. It depends on the data/reporting layer you want to access and - more importantly - how you want the meta data to be handled.
For example, SAP SQL Connector allows you to access almost every one of the 80000+ tables in your SAP environment, but - as the name says it - in a query-based unprocessed way ("raw data" if you like). While the SAP OLAP Connector lets you query the SAP B/W Cubes in that same SAP system.
Read the first few pages of the SAP Connector help, which is now published on-line and available here: SAP

Peter
And for your second question: it depends on whether you want tailored documents or you want to get started as quickly as possible. The first can take you months to years (you did include everything in your module list), the second one can be done rather quickly by using the standard QlikStart templates for SAP. See here: A Collection of QlikView SAP Template. They may be a bit outdated though.

Peter
Hi Peter,
Thanks for your reply.
Another question,is there a way to integrate QlikView with SAP or it is mandatory to position SAP Connector in that case.
Additionally, what about QlikSense, can i use it with SAP Sys
if i implement these templates what is the estimated time for those template?
I don't know. I guess I can make them work more-or-less (some are a bit outdated) in a couple of days. But I have no idea about the resources and expertise you have at your disposal.
Best,
Peter
Thanks for your info above,
I have last question in that case, can I use SAP SQL Connector as the SAP SQL Connector only applicable with QlikSense.
Hi,
as I know not all components of the Qlik Connector works with Qlik Sense at the moment, check the documentation for that.
As Peter said, there is another SAP Connector for QlikView (from a third party) and my company is used that.
I would recommend that you evaluate both connectors and check which one is the best for you.
Hello Peter
Will u suggest me how to get connect to SAP SRM server from qlikview. Is there any third party connectors ?
