BEx Connector and log analysis

Hi everyone,

today I took a look at the logs created by the SAP BEx Connector (version 6.3.2).

I've seen that everytime a query returns data (in my current scenario it's not so obvious), a lot or rows with the following message are wrote in the log:

Number of data columns doesn't match number of metadata colums, probably some TEXT or UNIT colums isn't available when reading data.

When 0 rows are returned, this message isn't logged.

I haven't checked if there is an entry for each row returned by the query. I was mostly wondering why it was logged at all.

Any idea?

If it could make a difference, in the script (created in Qlik Sense 3.2) we don't have any previous load instruction to choose which dimensions will be read.

This has been done because the query has changed many times, loading more or less dimensions/attributes, and we wanted to load all the available dimensions (also the non-navigational ones).

Also, I would also like to know if there is any application (like an operation/log monitor) that reads those logs and perform some analysis on them.

Many thanks

Hi there,

in the end I opened a case with the Support.

The message I see is not supposed to happen, but I still have no idea why it happens... Investigation is still on going.

Regarding log analysis, Support confirmed me that there is no application to analyse those logs.
