How to make a simple Year To Date ?

Hi,

I' three fields : "Year", "Month" and "Value"

I display a table :

Year, Month as dimensions, Sum(Value) as expression.

1) What is the easiest way to add another expression which make a Year to date (i.e sum of Value since the beginnig of the year).

2) Same question using Set Analysis. To be precise, if the user click on a month, the new expressions must continue to display the YTD (even if some months are excluded).

I've put an example in attachment.

P.S : I work with the V9 version SR2

Hi Bertrand,

I've attached a possible solution, but there is a problem, I can't get the expected result using set analysis with both dimensions, only works using Year dimension.

Check out my file, maybe it could give you some idea.

Best regards.

OK thanks,

I think I can make it now. The <= Max(Month) was the syntax I was looking for

Bertrand,

For another great solution, check out this app created by one of our best consultants (not me, even though it says I uploaded the file!)

This shows you how to handle YTD, MTD, etc. in multiple ways: Flags in the script, Set Analysis and dynamic Set Analysis.
