Is there any possibility of having QVD size more than the CSV from which it is created??

Hi guys,

I am facing a weird situation, wherein i can see my QVD size more than the CSV from which it is created. If you have any info on it plz plz do let me know.

You haven't given very much info, but if the text file was small, then the QVD could be larger, due to the XML header in the QVD file. Also, the QVD file size depends on the number of distinct values for each field, if this is large (eg distinct values in every record, and that do not compress well), then the QVD could use at least as much (or more) space as the text file.

You also have to remember that when loading any text files there is no data typing so each line you load (except numeric) is treated as a string, try reformatting the fields and you should find the size reduces quickly
