Setting a table to COUNT different dimensions

Hi all, sorry to bother you but i started last weekend to use QV.

I have different excel sheets that i use as source and all the data are connected.

I imported them into QV and started to make a dashboard.

CUSTOMERSERVICE
Aservice1
Aservice2
Bservice2
Cservice3
Dservice1

SERVICEACTIVITY
service1activity1
service1activity2
service1activity3
service2activity1
service3activity2
service3activity3

Now i would like to COUNT how many DISTINCT Customer, how many DISTINCT services and how many DISTINCT activities are there and foinally put them in a table.

Kind like this:

DIMENSIONCOUNTER
# Customers4
# Services3
# Activities3

I also would like this stats to remain fixed while i select and analyse the rest.

Actually i created 3 different text box with the expression " = COUNT (DISTINCT Customer) " but the number inside changes to 1 as i start to select and analyse the data.

Do i need to create 3 variables to store the counters? How and where i can do that?

Help meeeeeeee!!!

Thanks and have a nice day

Re: Setting a table to COUNT different dimensions

Yes, first clear all selections and then detach the table by checking the Detached option on the General tab of the properties screen.

Re: Setting a table to COUNT different dimensions

Hi thank yoiu for your quick response.

I implemented everything as you described and i finally see the table exactly as i want... but....

when i select the customer from the other table for the analysis, all the numbers changed and the counters show me the details of that specific customer (# services, # activities).

Is it possible to force the table not to change the numbers inside?
