CPU Reduced from 5 cores to 2

Hi all,

Since yesterday most of the loads are getting failed as CPU Reduced from 5 cores to 2 cores on productions server. The server is supposed to have 5 cores but currently it showing only 2 cores. Can some one tell me the root cause and corrective action please.

i think u can contact ur wintel/windows support team for this,they will help to bring back all cores.

Thanks Shiva. Window support team has increase the cores and it's working fine. But not able to find the root cause.

Check under your QMC to ensure that the QV server is set to use all CPU's as displayed in the below screenshot:

If your server is running on a VM and the actual core's have been removed / changed, ensure that the distribution service has no more than double engines assigned to it than that of the available cores to allow your reloads / distributions to keep running until you can investigate the root cause (Also worth mentioning: Check your schedules (Times etc.) to make sure there is enough QV Server engines to handle your schedules.
