Changing the "print" location for exported files to a network share.

Howdy,

Has anyone had any luck changing the Folder loction under the print tab to a network share? We would like the exported files to be saved directly to another server which the users can access to retrieve the bigger files at their leisure. (some files take an hour to export and we would rather they get saved somewhere the users have access to which they can get anytime.)

We have a mapped Drive Z: that we can access from the QV server but with I browse in in the QV Print setup Z: is not an option.

If I put it directly in the config folder it doesn't work.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Thanks

Shawn

Shawn,

Have you tried setting this with a UNC path instead of a mapped drive? In general, it is always a best practice to use UNC whenever possible.

Hi,

I have a similiar issue about setting a virtual drive for the default exporting directory.

From your post I understand that Qlikview only solves a valid UNC path for a network resource.

I have done a little reseach about this and so far, I could not find how to convert an FTP path to a UNC path.

I want the below ftp path

ftp://ftp.domain.com/xls

converted to

//11.45.123.321/xls ?

Thanks in advance.
