We are currently going through all the settings in QEMC and we notice that we have "Compress Network Traffic" checked by default in the Security tab under the QlikView Servers on the QEMC System Tab.
The reference manual States:
Compress Network Traffic
Mark this check box if large packages should be compressed in communication between client and server. It is recommended to uncheck this setting in high bandwidth environments, since the compression routines could require more resource than sending large packages of data over a high band-width network.
Does anyone have the definition of a "High Bandwith Environment"? Or any recommendation on setting the "Compress Network Traffic" checkbox?
Thanks,
JS
Leave it checked, uncheck it if your user access will be always from the local intranet (network where your server is) and if you have a gigabit newtork, regards.
We have a local 1 Gb network so we may do some testing with this after our go-live date. Thanks for the info!
Leave it checked. It seems to always improve end user performance.
