Database compatibility of different QlikView versions

Hi,

is there any "compatibility table" that depicts feasibility of importing a database across another QV versions?

Example: Database created in 11.20 can be imported and viewed in 12.20 ?

Hi, By database, do you mean qvw. If yes, then, any qvw created in older version can be opened in newer ones. And if you have created any qvw in newer version with newly added feature, let say, "Alternate States" was introduced in QV11, that qvw may not work properly in QV10 or 9.

What do you mean by database?

If we  are talking about a dashboard (.qvw file) or a data file (.qvd) then it's perfectly fine with both.

QlikView terminology is a deep space for me...

Two servers. One is running QV v.11.20 (will not be upgraded). Second will be running the newest QV version (12.30?).

Expectation scenario:

1) Load raw data, create scripts, apply any logic to visualize the needed data in the old QV.

2) Export from old QV and load into new QV. (Here I assumed we are talking about  the "database")

3) Everything what was in the old QV is available in the new QV without any limitations.

Hi, Expectation scenario: 1) Load raw data, create scripts, apply any logic to visualize the needed data in the old QV. A) When you've new version why do you want to create in old one. 2) Export from old QV and load into new QV. (Here I assumed we are talking about the "database") A)Yes it is possible. we dont call it database, it is .qvw file (qlikview application) or .qvd file (qlikview data file). QVD holds the data and QVW holds application with data used for visualization / reporting etc., 3) Everything what was in the old QV is available in the new QV without any limitations. A) Yes.

There are differences between the two major release versions 11.20 and 12.30, so you'll need to do the necessary testing when migrating between the versions. You can review the Release Notes available on the Qlik Download page for the 12.30 version.
