Detect Qlikview Server

Hi everyone,

I got a question, does anybody know how to detect/identify a QV Server in your network? I mean find out if there is a QVS service running in my network and detect what machine has it?

Hi,

Download Power tools Power Tools 1.2 for QlikView

and then use QVS Detector.

I'm not sure how reliable it is, but you can try:

On the Start Page, click "Open in Server".  After that - "Search for nearby servers" (it is on the bottom).

Nearby.jpgThanks for the tip but doesn't help because it doesn't even detect my known server (running fine) attached image.

Now i'm trying out the QVSDetector but this doesn't detect nothing either.

Hi,

I am thinking you are using an old version. Here is a screen shot of the new one.

Hi Bill, im using QVS detector version 0.9 from the powertools version 1.2:

QVSDetector.jpg

and it works when i start my testing QVS machine:

QVS Detected.jpg

The strange thing is why it does't detect my QVS from my Server when I have it in the same net and is running and port 4747 open and even turning off Antivirus and firewall as well. The 0.9 version is the same you use?

Well the issue was fixed using the QVSDetector in a customer environment working as expected by detecting to QVS with the same license applied, so they were able to shutdown one and solve the problem. Thanks everyone for your help.

**NOTE: In my environment the QVSDetector doesn't detect my server as well. I don't know if it is firewall or Antivirus issue, I'll keep on trying.

Regards!
