Documents disappearing from Accesspoint site

Hi

Yesterday our Accespoint started "losing" User Documents.

That is, qvw files that physically exists in the Accesspoint folder structure suddenly are not available at the Accespoint site.

We have never experienced this before.

Restarting the server process (QVS.exe) seemed o help for a while, but then the same qvw:s "disappered" again.

Has anyone else seen this?

Any ideas what can cause this?

the server version is 11.20.12664.0  (11.20 SR9)

Hi

I was able to pinpoint the cause.

I saw that there were always the same documents that were "disappearing" and started to compare how the user names (which actually mostly are Ldap group names) were written in the QMC->Documents->Authorization setting.

Let's say we have a ldap group named ldap-qvgroup1 with the GroupDN: "CN=ldap-qvgroup1, OU=xyz, DC=example, DC=com"

For the disappearing documents we had written:

"ldap-qvgroup1" as "User name"

Changing that to

"example\ldap-qvgroup1" fixed the problem.

Our IT department confirms that they did a change in the ldap configuration two days ago (just when our problems started) changing the "scope of the groups (from global to domain local)"

Report this issue at QlikView support. SR9 is released recently so it might be a bug?

Disappearing for all users or just a subset? What is your folder security structure like?

Yes I suppose I need to do that if noone here in the community has any tip on how to stop this behaviour.

Hi Joe, thanks for your help!

Disappearing for all users or just a subset?

I think it is for all users.

What is your folder security structure like?

I am not sure what you mean here. Could you elaborate?

What I mean is, do you just have one folder with overall access to all users and then application access controlled by section access, Or do you set any specific security to different users within different folders of your environment?

i.e Folder A for team A, Folder B for team B

Ties into the first question really, just trying to get some context around your environment setup, in case the issue is outside of QV and around folder access changing.

Well we just have a couple of different folders like "daily", "non-daily", "specials", "admin", and then there is qvw-documents in each.

We have no section access settings.

Users are authorized to different applications via QMC->Documents->Authorization

"Always" access and "Named users" user type

System->Setup->Security as below:

Nice one glad you got to the bottom of it. Just shows how important communication with IT is for changes that are to be made
