Does QVSvr 10 require IE 9 to turn off Protected Mode for IE Plugin to work?

When connecting from IE 9 to a QV Svr 10 SR4 access point and having installed the IE Plugin I notice that I was not able to open qvw file with Tools | Internet Options | Security had protected mode checked. The cursor did NOT convert to a hand when I rolled over the qvw and click/doubleclick did not open the qvw.

When I unchecked proctected mode ... I was able to view the qvw using the IE plugin.

You should add your qlikview server to the "trusted sites" zone to allow the use of the plugin.

So are you saying that Protected mode has to be off for IEPlugin to run?

And that by adding the website to the "trusted sites" zone I am effectively running with protected mode off when I connect to this site?

After I uninstalled QV Desktop v11 and reinstalled ... I no longer need protected mode. Some sort of QV OCX v 11 issue?
