Error when scheduling LOAD from Oracle table

Hi. I have a qvw which loads data from an Oracle view successfully when it is done manually but fails with the following error when scheduled:

The task "Dev Data/GrowerDebt/TestCroplands.qvw" failed. Part of the log file follows:09/12/2010 09:09:04 Error The Source Document was NOT reloaded successfully. DocumentPath=D:\QVDATA\APPS\DATA\DEV DATA\GrowerDebt\TestCroplands.qvw.
09/12/2010 09:09:04 Error Reload failed.
09/12/2010 09:09:04 Error The task "Dev Data/GrowerDebt/TestCroplands.qvw" failed. ErrorCount=2

QlikView runs under a service account with sufficient access. I can logon to the Oracle server with this account and run a query against the view in question.

I removed everything from the qvw except the ODBC CONNECT, scheduled it and it ran successfully. Adding a simple SQL SELECT resulted in the above error.

I have been through various logs on both servers but have not found any indication as to the exact reason.

I would be grateful if anybody could shed some light on this.

did you check the folder locations? use the server's drive letters instead of network locations.

An other option may be to give the execution service a user with more rights. Do this in the service properties of the qv execution service

Thanks for the input.

I changed the Logon user in the QlikView Server Service to one with full access to both servers but it had no effect.

As far as the path is concerned, it seems to be correct as the task runs for a while loading data from JDE in the first part but seems to fail as soon as it hits the SQL SELECT for the Oracle view. If I remove the SQL SELECT alone leaving the CONNECT in place, it finishes without an error. I even connected to JDE, loaded data, connected to Oracle and immediately re-connected to JDE and was able to load further JDE data successfully.

It is starting to look like an Oracle issue although I still can't explain why the task runs quite happily when invoked manually.

I have pasted the Task Details below for completeness.

Did you check the QVW .log file?

I'm no Oracle expert but I know from the past that I had several issues with older Orca clients. For example there's a bug in older versions if running on a x64 platform and configuring orca home dir in /Program Files (x86)/. The drive couldn't handle the () in the path. Changing the orca home to C:\orca81 solved that issue.

Another issue is with environment variables not being configured properly making some system variable paths not being present when running in batch mode.

If you enable logging in the qvw-file you might be able to spot the SQL (ORA) error in the generated log file created next to the qvw-file when reloading. Might also be possible to do a SQL trace on the actual drive to see if you find something.
