Failed to Open document. You don't have access to this document

Hi Folks,

can anyone come up with probable causes why our client get's the above message on a QVW that DOESN'T HAVE SECTION ACCESS, when attempting to open the QVW in the access point.

They have recently upgraded from V9 to V11.2

Thanks in advance.

SORTED!

The issues with errors etc where down to the browser cache never been cleared. Once done, the correct forms rendered. I could now see the  Availability Limitations check box, was greyed out and un-ticked.

So did

1. Stop the QlikView Server service (Start -> Run -> Services.msc).

2. Close all the browsers.

3. Go to: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\QlikTech\Qvs

4. Remove or delete this file:"FDL.DAT" (I would move it to a different location).

5. Start the QlikView Server Service again.

6. Tick Allow this document to be loaded by the Qlikview Server

Cheers to bbt and Kwok.

Hi,

Can there access the file via windows explorer? - Permissions?

First things to check

  • NTFS rights or DMS settings that may deny user access to the specific QVW
  • QlikView CAL assignment

Sorry, both NTFS permissions and CAL assignments are OK

Have you checked the NTFS permissions at the qvw file level, as opposed to checking at the folder level.

I have just reconnected and attempted to check out document > User documents and am getting the following errors when accessing the page and subsequently when clicking on various options and apply:

PS this client also uses an ancient Q4c licence, that's currently configure as 100 users with 1 document

You have just answered your own question, another document must be holding the license. Only one document is allowed to be accessed on AccessPoint.

Not the case, as you don't get the option to assign a doc cal with Q4C licence in V 11.2
