Hi

I am getting the above error when i try to open qlikview report which is embedded in .net protal. It's working fine with Qlkiview 8.5 server. All the iis settings are same for both the system's virtual directories.

We have installed Qlikview server 9 sr3 version on 64-bit machine.

Any ideas!!!!!!

Thanks,

Preena

In QEMC, check to make sure your QVS service is running (Status --> Services). It may be running in Windows but sometimes shows as "Disconnected" in QEMC. You will get this error in that case.

Preena,

I'm assuming you're using the IE PlugIn. Try this. In the browser address bar, put in qvp://username@servername/docname.qvw. So, for example: qvp://administrator@myserver/Films.qvw. Note that the username should be in the format USER, not DOMAIN\USER. When prompted, enter your password. Are you able to open the document in this way?

Preena,

There are lots of posts on the Community about this error. Check out this page for some suggestions: http://community.qlik.com/forums/p/24827/98503.aspx. Also make sure port 4747 is open both directions on both the server and your machine.

In addition, if you have Section Access on the application, it's possible that you locked yourself out using strict exclusion...Try using QV Desktop to open the document in the server. If it works, we can probably conclude that it's a PlugIn or AP issue. Otherwise, we can conclude that it's a permissions issue.

I had a special case on this matter: I created a new QVW by first making "save as" an existing QVW which had "section access" codes included in its script. Though I completely deleted the section access codes from the script of the new document, I got this error message when I tried to access the document via IE Plugin. Then, getting support from our QV consultant, I learned that I should have done this: Open the documnet on QV, then by clicking on "settings-->document properties-->opening" tab, remove the "tick" from "Initial data reduction based on section access" checkbox.

Hope this also helps for those who experience a similar problem.
