Has anyone clone a VM machine qith QlikView Server and Publisher to create a parallel environment?

Hi,

Has anyone clone a VM machine with QlikView Server and Publisher installed and running to create a parallel environment?

I am planing to upgrade from version 9 R7 to version 10 R2 and I want to build a clone of the production environment and have the new cloned environment used to do the upgrade and have the users to do their parallel testing having both environment side by side at the same time.  This will help in expediting the transition to version 10.

Thanks.

I have and it's quite messy, QlikView installation includes the server name in some config files and in the registry.

User profile also becomes corrupted some times when the IP address changes so you might need to create a new user for the cloned environment.

Daniel,

Thanks for the info. I think, it will be best to just start and create

a brand new environment and start from square 1.

or after cloning the environment you can see if QV is running and if not you can uninstall QV, remove all files and registry entries and re install it.
