How to Re-store the Tasks of a Publisher?

Hi All,

In one of our server, we had made some changes while re-installing the services and some R&D. Earlier some 20 tasks were scheduled and running on daily basis. We also reverted the old services again.

But some how  the tasks are lost. Any corrective approach on how to recover/ restore those tasks without creating again@@?

Please help.

1. Find the location of QVPR which contains daily back up in Back up folder. By default QVPR backup will be under this path. C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\ManagementService\QVPR

2. Copy the latest the folder with date on which all the tasks where there and running from the Backup folder.

3. Extract the files to QVPR.

4. Restart your QMS. Check your tasks it will be restored.

Hi,

The tasks are stored here in .xml, there is a backup that you should be able to use :

C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\ManagementService\QVPR

Hi Saritha,

Thanks for your help. I clearly got your points what and where to do.

But if incase if there is no Old Zip folder in the Backup folder of QVPR, what to do? I don't have the old files (somehow)
in the Backup.

Any other approaches are there ?

Sadly, I don't think there is another way to recover your tasks if thoses .xml file doesn't exist anymore.

Thanks anyways....

Somehow the backup no more exists. I need to create the tasks again.

Can anyone tell me why/how the BackUP files are deleted? Is it something because of fresh installation of services or with creating the new paths on QMC etc. ?

Regards!!

OK.

Somehow the installed QV tasks got stopped and didnt restarted while trying to restart. Mainly QDS was not working whenever you try to start through Services. Then DSC and QVS failed too. (Probably the reason was there was some problem in Credentials through which they were installed). Earlier the BackUp XML files were available in QVPR folder.

Later on all the services were uninstalled, again fresh installation was done for all the 5 services with new credentials. and some new paths (SourceDocuments, UserDocuments, TEMP etc) were set up on QMC. So now only today's XML Files are available in Backup folder in QVPR. Rest all others are gone!!!

So is this the reason for the disturbance?

Regards!!!
