Hi,
I have QV Desktop Personal Edition version 11.0 SR2 installed on my local machine(laptop).
I also installed the Qlikview Server on my local machine and have licensed it(I have 1 EE Server license for training purpose with 5 Named User CALs).
I am able to successfully lease my Qlikview Desktop(Personal Edition) by connecting to this server.
I wanted to know can the other users lease their Qlikview Desktops by connecting to this server(which is installed on my local machine)
and if yes, how can they do it?
Thanks
Sabal
Hi Felim,
Sorry for not following up on this.
Actually what i wanted to ask was is there a need for the other users to also install the Qlikview server on their machines in order to lease a license from my laptop(which has a licensed version of Qlikview Server installed)?
They have already installed the Qlikview Desktop Personal Edition. Do they also need to install the Qlikview Server?
Because right now they are just not able to connect to the server(on my laptop). Let me know if I am missing something.
Would be happy to share more details if needed.
Thanks
Sabal
Providing you are on an associated network they will need to "open in server" the same as I assume you did to lease yours but they will have to connect to your laptop qvp://yourlaptopname/directoryetc

Hi Sabai,
If you have only 1 server license you can only install that license on 1 system.
So the 4 local systems don't need to install the qlikview server. Only local installations or webbased usage from the server via the acces point.
It seems to me that the server can't lease the 4 local their user license becaused they aint connected properly.
Are all 5 systems in the same network domain? Can they all ping the server? are shared folders on the server accessable from the local systems?
Let me know if you have any succes.
Greets,
Jelco
First establish so that user can reach your computer, if that works, they will be able to obtain a license from the QlikView Server
QlikView Desktop will lease a licence automatically when connecting to a QlikView Server, by default. First come, first served.
You can change this behavior in QV Server settings.
