Installation/ Configuration

Hi,

I am new to QlikView and just trying to get this up and running. I have downloaded the trial version onto our server but when connecting to the database I keep getting the error: "Connected to Server OK, Security Settings deny access".

I found the documentation (attached) on this which advises modifying the install to add ISS support as below but do not have this option - only what is shown in the second image.

Hopefully this is just something silly I'm missing as I'm keen to get started using the system.

All advice appriciated!

Can't see your images but since there is no trial version of Qlikview Server (you need a valid license) I assume you have downloaded the desktop-version. In this you can connect to a variety of data sources and present the data in a visual enviroment. No need for IIS or tunneling.

Sorry it was the free version (http://us.demo.qlik.com/download/) but when connecting to the data source I am still getting the security but the only article I could find with a fix was using the tunnelling solution so I'm a bit stuck here.

I have only seen that error when trying to connect to a Qlikview server which, as stated above, is a seperate product.

Are you doing something like this when getting the error?

Hi Allan,

I had the same problem even using VPN, and I've just enable port 4747 in the firewall icoming and outgoing rules and now works.

Hope this works for you.
