Issues on using Qlikview plugin. Works fine on web view, doesn't open with plugin...

Hi there o/

I'm having some trouble with Qlikview plugin:

My application works fine on my local network using the qlikview plugin in I.E., but when accessing outside the companym through internet, on web view it goes ok, but with the plugin the project can't be opened and I get the message in the image attached.

Is there any particular stuff I should configure to work?

Thanks

Put (FromRequest)  in the linkmachine name and try it. This error comes up when one of the following happens.

1. Port 4747 is not open between the client and the server.

2. The port 4747 is NATed wrong. It needs to point to the server running QVS and not the webex server.

3. The linkMachine Name is incorrect. Needs to be the name that the users are hitting from the out side or (FromRequest)

Hi,

1) try to enable the port 4747

or

2) add as a secure page in the internet explorer option

good luck

Hi, thanks for the help... Though I tried both ways and still no success...

I noticed that the URL ends like this: /AccessPoint.aspx?open=&id=QVS%40LocalNameOfServer%7CFolder%2FApp&client=Plugin

Wouldn't be something with the url calling this local address?
If so, is there any way to change this fo acquiring the remote address?

Hi Marcos,

Did you confirm that port 4747 was opened?

You may use telnet for instance (if installed through "Programs and Features") to check if the port is connectable, otherwise you need to open it in order for the IE plugin to not tunnel:

CMD: telnet SERVERNAME 4747

Do this from inside the network and compare it to the outside.

You may also try to connect to our demosite and see if it works there: http://demo.qlik.com .

Let me know if this helps.

Yes, I confirmed... Through telnet and through a port test...
Even tried to change the rpd port to remote access my server through port 4747 and it worked fine...

I don't think that's my case...

I found some help in the community regarding "QvTunnell.dll" in the qlikview server installation... But there's no option for that (guess this was necessary in an older version) in the installation...

HI,

Check the LinkMachine name. The name in from of the QVP://name and the tunnel=http://name should match.

Easy way to do it is to put (FromRequest)  with quotes in the linkmachine name.

Link machine name is the same...
From my local network I can access my app...
