Macro on AJAX or IE Plugin

Hi guys,

As far as i know, macro will not work in AJAX or IE plugin.

Do we have other alternative for this?

and is it possible that future releases will include macro into AJAX & IE Plugin?

Hi there,

Macros will not work in WebView. It's documented as a "known issue" in the Release Notes document for QV 10 SR3 build 9061.

In addition, some macros will not work as designed in a Server environment, some of them are documented in the Reference Manual, Book II, Section 29. Moreover, some of them will only work in a Windows environment when the document is opened using Desktop or IE Plugin, because of some OCX / ActiveX functionality (zooming or drawing charts dynamically).

However, most of the actions will work (activating sheets or setting a value in a variable or search in a field or export).

Hope that helps.

I've had the same problem on AJAX using version 9 SR6. Have not been able to get macros working. Are you both using the same version of QV?

Thanks for the explanation Miguel.

Unfortunately I don't have server license, it's quite difficult to justify the use of macro if I can't expect what will happens in the actual AJAX/IEPlugin.

I've contacted a qlikview consultant to help me find out about the macro and test it out.

Hope the next release will fix this.

Currently I'm using the latest version 10 sr3 build 9061.
