Multiple Task Creation

Need some help in defining tasks.

How to Configure Scenerio1:

TaskA: needs to run everyday in morning @ 2AM.

TaskB: needs to run at 10AM but also depenedent on TaskA to be successful.

How to Configure Scenerio2:

TaskA: needs to run everyday in morning @ 2AM.

TaskB: needs to run at 10AM but also depenedent on TaskA (nice to be succesful not must) I think it needs to decide within 5 minutes if it should wait or proceed.

Re: Multiple Task Creation

By The way i want TaskA & TaskB appear in same chain (TaskB underneath TaskA if possible under Task tab)

Re: Multiple Task Creation

Additional question 1: do you have a Publisher license?

Re: Multiple Task Creation

yes

Re: Multiple Task Creation

Then define multiple triggers (and dependencies if needed) for your documents in the triggers tab.

You cannot however change the ordering of tasks in the Tasks Overview. The QMC will decide on how to display tasks with multiple triggers in a task tree. Nothing you can do about that.

Re: Multiple Task Creation

Another Question:

TaskC: needs to run: when

TaskA: must complete (if it doesn't then don't run TaskC)

TaskB: nice to complete (if it completes within specific time let say 10 minutes) if not as long as Task A is done execute Task C.

Re: Multiple Task Creation

I guess you simply chain task C to task A. The outcome of task B is irrelevant.
