You can fix a small image as thumbnail into Document Properties / Opening

Sem título.png

Not applicable

Try:

  1. Open the QlikView application in question
  2. Ensure "Web View" is not active (Toolbars: "View" -> "Turn on/off WebView")
  3. In "Settings - Document Properties... - Opening" tab, ensure Document Thumbnail is set to "Opening Sheet"
  4. Re-save the application to the QlikView Server document directory as per usual
  5. Verify that the thumbnail is now appearing in AccessPoint. You may need to reload or restart.

Since deploying some apps we've found using "opening sheet" results in grey boxes appears all over the thumbnail where objects/images are present.  Unfortunately we've had to resort to using an "image" of the opening screen instead.

anyone know why this happens?

How are you reloading the QVW's?

As I've not got round to scheduling properly I am reloading using a .BAT file.

It's possible as we're still doing lots of development there are also instance when I am copying and pasting the QVW from our dev area (same server) to the deployment folder.

Is there a specific process I should follow in order to not get this?

Hi Michael,

That is the problem. If you are running qv.exe /r you will lose the image. This has been put in as a bug, but was closed as a WAD (Working as Designed).

If you´re running without Distribution Service, QVS won´t set the image.

Try to put a fixed image as I described above

Not sure I would class that as a WAD, as it looks pretty poor on the access point.

Thanks for clarify the cause too, we've already gone with using an image on the others apps so just need to build that into our dev process.

Mike.

Yeah, we're not using that.  It's nothing major, just unexpected....
