Open Server documents via Browser

Hi all,

we have a QV application accessible by clients via Access Point (QV Server Version 9).

Via this application, we need to distribute some files - e.g. pdf or ppt-files, associated with the analysis data. These files are stored on the server.

We now face the problem, when a client tries to open the files, they get an error message "failed to open document" because the client tries to open the document at the path which refers to the server path, where the documents are stored.

Is there any possibility to get this working or do we need to upload the files to a DMS for instance and link them in QV? Thanks for any help on this!

Did you try to use an absolute location?

\\servername\folder\file.ext ?

Is it a UNC path?

Yes, the path looks like this:

..\..\..\..\QV_Nutzdaten\T\ExterneQuellen\Export\Attach\090044dd8011c725\testdocument.pdf

I set the folder properties of the folder which contains the document to "share with everyone", but this did not help.

When I try to open it from QV Desktop (on the server machine) it works fine.

Any hints?
