QVS problems on XP x64

I have installed QV9 and QVS9, both 64-bit versions, on my XP x64 machine. I used the standard installation options apart from changing the folder it installed to, and rebooted my PC.

If I go to Start, Programs....QlikView Management Console, it opens Firefox and asks for my username and password, which I enter and it displays the management console. I can do everything I need from here, although for some reason it won't display the About screen properly. It just shows "About this QlikView System" and nothing else, not even the other tabs along the top.

Then I go into the QlikView Enterprise Management Console, which on the Overview tab shows me that the Command Center is running. But if I click on any other tab or option, it displays the following three errors in turn:

The page at http://localhost:4780 says: undefined

The page at http://localhost:4780 says: *QvsStatistics not availbale (sic)

The page at http://localhost:4780 says: Invalid request: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation

*This word changes depending on the option clicked.

If I then try to open the Management Console in IE8, it only displays the background and an error icon appears in the status bar. The errors contained within are:

The Enterprise Management Console in IE8 again shows the background and some of the field headings, but again there are similar errors:

I have now installed SR1, and it has improved things somewhat. I still have problems with the EMC but as they are different I'll report them separately.

Hi Paul,

It's a quite a while ago, so I suppose you might have solved this problem by upgrading to Qv version 10. I'm having this issue now on version 10, and simply putting the URL with hostname in the Trusted or Intranet zone solved it for me. The ideal setup method would be only to use de Qv webserver and not IIS.

I just got the same error: I installed QV server 10 SR3, trying to run the management console I was informed IE7 or above required, so I installed IE8, then again tried QMC & the error appeared.

In IE8 browser, I selected 'Tools' - 'Internet Options' & Security tab then clicked 'Local Intranet' & Custom Level button; on the Security Settings dialog I set the following:

Run ActiveX controls and plugins = Enable

Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting* = Enable
