Qlik Enterprise Architecture - 3Tier QVD vs 3 Tier Mixed?

Dear All,

Wanted to understand and compare, which would be better or rather in what scenarios which logical Architecture would be better for an Enterprise scale Qlik deployment, getting data from multiple disparate sources having a Typical Extract, Transform, and Presentation layer-->

1. 3 Tier QVD, where we generate QVD in Transform Layer  or
2. 3 Tier Mixed, where we use QVW app (Qlikmart), getting data from Extract QVD layer.
