Restoring Certificate during Upgrade

Hi ,

Do we need to restore certificate or it is automatically upgraded during Upgrade process in Qlikview? I am using Qlikview April 2019

Hi, I don't remember to have to update anything on certificates when upgrading QlikView server.

Only when the certificate is close to finish his valid dates and I have to install a new one.

Anyway,  installing certificate is usually an easy task (at least if you have a valid certificate)

Hi Ruben,

Thanks for your reply. Can you please suggest how to handle certificates in case of migration?

A few days ago, we talked about that backing up your certificates is an important part of your SQL Server recovery strategy. A recovery strategy cannot be complete without a way to execute a restore. Yet, SQL Server does not have a RESTORE CERTIFICATE statement prepaidgiftbalance.com

Hi, here is a support article with the steps. Also the zip at the end of the article has a word document with more easy to follow instructions: https://support.qlik.com/articles/000002484

As comstock posted, you'll need a copy of your cetificate, if you don't have a copy you should export the one that is installed on the server. Note than a migration is diffferent than an upgrade. Migration usually means you move to another server while an upgrade usually is done on the same server.

The Help covers things pretty well here:

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/qlikview/April2019/Subsystems/Server/Content/QV_Server/QlikView-Server/Q...

This should cover what you need I believe.
