SR version and IR

Hi every one,

I am so confused about versions of Qlikview, Is there any different between version IR and SR?

IR is initial release

SR is service Release

they are just different versions like we have sr1,sr2,sr3,etc

the server edition has different software or I can use server edition only by getting a license ?

HI you can download personal edition of qlikview and very well work on it, but u have some limitations having personal edition...once u download personal edition u can use it with only ur system, i mean u can creat n number of apps in your system, but u cannot open others app in ur system,ie you cannot open any app that have been created by some other system(with an exception of first four times). If u get the licence you can very well open any app(that dont have security restrictions).

-If u are looking for learing then you can very well use personal edition.

You can download the personal edition of any sr that you want from qlik website...

Its free of cost.

I know that and using personal edition but I want to learn server edition and how it work and what is required?

Do u want to work with Qlikview server?

SR is ServiceRelease- There is no difference between SR licenced version and SR Personal edition in tems of working and options available.

Qlikview server is something different.

Pls be specific.

at the moment I am using SR edition but I want to know about server edition for future to use it.

SR edition and Service Release are same...These SR, IR ,etc are qlikview desktop, where we create app...

SR ie service release is nothing but an upgraded version of the before one(next version with the bugs removed in the previous version).Qlikview server is entirely different. If you are a developer then u work with desktop, if u want to become an ADmin then uyou have to master publisher and server.

QlikView Developer is a Windows-based desktop tool that is used by designers and developers to create 1) a data extract and transformation model and 2) to create the graphical user interface (or presentation layer).

QlikView Server (QVS) handles the communication between clients and the QlikView applications. It loads QlikView applications into memory and calculates and presents user selections in real time.

QlikView Publisher loads data from different data sources (oledb/odbc, xml, xls), reduces the QlikView application and distributes to a QVS.
