Re: Send Email to adminstrator on reload failure

Hi

As I mentioned you will need to set up a connection to your SMTP mail server in the QlikView Management Console (or Enterprise Console if you are earlier than QV11).  System/Setup tab, select "Mail Server" on the left pane and populate your SMTP details.

Following this again the the left pane expand "QlikView Servers" and select your QVS.  In the right pane there should be a tab named something like "Alerts" or "Alert Emails" (I don't have a server in front of me so can't remember exact wording).  In that tab you will need to list all email addesses who need to receive email job alerts.

Thanks

Dave

Re: Send Email to adminstrator on reload failure

Depends if you have Publisher or not.

Regardless you need to set up a connection to an SMTP mail server on the Mail Server screen in the System tab of the QlikView Management Console.  Then you need to populate the list of users who will receive e-mail alerts; the screen where that's specified varies depending on if you have Publisher or not.

Hi Dave

Thanks for your reply.

I don't have publisher. Can you please guide me the settings that should be done to receive email alerts.

Thanks.

Re: Send Email to adminstrator on reload failure

Hi Dave

Thanks.

I have added the email address in server -> Alerts tab. For testing I have made an reload error. But mails are not triggered. Test mail is working fine from mail server. But alerts are not working.

That's weird.  I can only suggest uploading screenshots of the two screens (with sensitive information obscured).

Re: Send Email to adminstrator on reload failure

Hi Krishna, Hi Dave,

I seem to have a similar problem.

Email alert is not sent for some of my documents.

Test email is working ok, and if I create a qvw with just a syntax error in the script and schedule a reload, it fires an alert.

But for another document, I don't get any emails. This is the part of its logfile:

KPI:

2012-09-18 00:10:24: 0189  LOAD VERTRAGSNUMMER,

2012-09-18 00:10:24:       Execution Failed

2012-09-18 00:10:24:      Execution finished.

I think the error itself is understood, sometimes it happens that a zero length input file is written.

This document is located on a mounted folder. Is there any other condition that needs to be fulfilled that an alert is sent except for the failed reload?

Krishna, it seems that your problems has been resolved. Have you've done anything special or changed anything in Server settings compared to your OP?

Re: Send Email to adminstrator on reload failure

Stefan

Are you using Publisher or not?  QV10 or QV11?  Publisher allows you to set it up so that only a specific group of Document Administrators (against a specific Mounted Folder) get alerts.

I can't think of anything else that would cause the alerting to be selective.

Thanks

Dave

Re: Send Email to adminstrator on reload failure

I'm having a similar problem:

Testmails ok, 4 different users.

Alert mail is only sent to one, the last user listed in the recieptians.

In the email header I can found:

To: "<user1@comany.com> <user2@company.com>" <user3@company.com>

Look at the " "

Using NO publisher.
