Session cal

Hello everyone,

We are thinking of buying session cals. I understand that the session cal is freed up after the user quit his session.  But I have questions:

- Do I allocate a session cal to one document ?  It would means anyone could open the document and then freed up the session cal after he quits ?

- Do I have session cals for every documents ? So if I have 3 session cals, 3 users can open each one 1 application (no matter which one) ? Or 1 user can open 3 applications ? Is this right ?

- How do I manage user access ? The only way to manage it is to use section access in the application ?

Thank you for your help

Have a good day

Hi Laura,

You account manager would be the best resource to help you with this. Sessions CALs can not be assigned to documents.

Hi Laura.

session cal just use in IAS(Information Access Server) limited documents QlikView and QES(QlikView Extranet Server) allows max tree documents QlikView.

Do you have anyone?

Session Cal is used just for anonymous users for minimum 15 minutes.

Do you know about that?

Regard.

Hi Paulo,

Yes, actually we are thinking of buying an extranet server, that's why I am asking about session cals.

By the way, Qlik told me today that there is no more limitations of 3 documents.

SESSION CAL

The Session CAL is used for sharing QlikView Licenses. It is similar to concurrent licensing but there are some subtle differences. A Session CAL is not tied to an individual user or machine but allows for both authenticated and "anonymous" users. Since the Session CALs are shared, if a user logs into QlikView and there are no Session CALs available, their access will be denied. The minimum session time for a Session CAL is 15 minutes, which means that sessions that end in less than 15 minutes will still consume the session until the 15 minute mark is passed; those which terminate after 15 minutes will consume their actual session length. By default, there is no maximum session length, but this can be configured
