Steps to migrate from 11.20 SR2 to 11.20 SR3?

Hi All,

We have QV 11.20 SR2 installed in our servers, in which few features are not working in Acess Point when viewed in AJAX mode. Now we are planning to migrate to newly released QlikView 11.20 Service Release 3 [SR3], build 11.20.12018.

So request you to help, in identifying the steps to be taken for a successful installation of the new SR3.

Please elaborate the steps. Help will be heigly appreciated.

Regards!!!

If you are upgrading from 11.20 SR2 -> SR3, you should simply just have to double click the installer and follow the few steps that follow.

Cheers,

Is it required to uninstall the installed version, or directly the new setup would overwrite it?

Is it possible to keep both SR2 and SR3 anyhow?

Regards!!!

u will need to install in separate folder i think, but why do you need that?

Hi CleverGoat,

I'm going to upgrade from v11 ro v11.2 SR2. i'm still wondering if i should do the double click or complete reinstallation. Any views?

Thx

Hi,

You can directly run the installer without uninstalling the previous version as it will just perform an upgrade. I wouldn't recommend trying to keep both versions in the same environment.

If you are worried about perrforming an upgrade to a new version (i.e. possibly introducing new bugs/issues) then I would either wait to upgrade or upgrade in test server/environment.

Hi Nick,

A 'double click' should be sufficient as it's not an entirely new version. You can always read the release notes of the version you are wanting to upgrade to. If there are any special steps needed to be taken to perform the upgrade from your version to your desired version, it should be in there.

I believe I upgraded my servers to 11.2 SR2 without any troubles. I did reload and re-publish the documents after upgrading though, just a habit and can't hurt.

Cheers,

CG,

Thanks for the advice, i upgraded my test server, smooth and easy, but as it's the first time i see this "upgrade" function, so i prefer to ask around.

Thanks.
