Unable to open the application using IE Plug-In

Hi,

We are using QV 9 SR3.

One of the user complained that she was not able to access the QlikView application through access point using IE Plug-In, inspite of installing the Plug-In successfully. The user has IE 7.

When I tried opening the Application through IE plug-in from the user laptop, it opens a blank screen and shows 'Done' with the warning symbol next to it., but the user was able to open any QlikView application without any issue using AJAX.

Does anyone has solution to it?. Is this error is related to the users personnal system?.

Also note, that only one user has this reported problem.

Thanks.

Santhosh,

Here are some ideas:

1. Check to see if there is a personal firewall (Windows, Norton, etc.) that is blocking port 4747.

2. Verify that the machine has the same Windows update patches that everybody else has.

Regards.

A few basic question...

1) Does opening the application in AJAX doesn't get affected by Windows firewall?. The user was able to open using AJAX and not with IE Plug-in

Thanks. .

The AJAX client uses port 80 while the plugin uses port 4747.

We have had issues where all of our users cannot access apps from the QlikView site and we have remedied that by re-starting the QlikView services on the server. If only one user is having the issue, it could be that IE is running in (No Add Ons) mode in which case the person just needs to open IE from the regular icon in their Programs menu. Otherwise it could be that the IE Plug-in has been disabled in IE (check Internet options --> Programs --> Manage Add Ons) or that their pop-up blocker is stopping the site from loading. Add the site to the Trusted Sites in IE and see if that helps. If none of these options work then I would check any extra firewall software that is installed as others have mentioned.
