We use AD groups to allow access to our documents. Each Document has a specific AD group that is added to it.
However, we have one document that is static and hasn't been updated in a year or more. There is a user that just started working in the department that uses this document and she has been added to the group but does not have access.
Does the document need to be rerun in order for her to have access? If so, why? Shouldn't the access be granted to that group so as far as Qlikview knows, as long as they are in that group, they should have access right?
if you add the user to any task in the QMC, then yes, the app should be refreshed.
Also check for any section access in the app.
if there's one scripted, then add the user to the security table and the app needs to be refreshed.
if you dont have any of the above 2 cases, then by adding the user to AD group should suffice and the app should be visible to the user.
Thnx
It all depends on how you manage access to documents. Also take into account that group membership changes are not immediate. They may take a while to get into the far corners of your company .From a few minutes ot a quarter of an hour or more.

A nice tool you can use to check such things as "what does QlikView know right know about the groups a specific user belongs to" is the QMC->Users tab. Enter the AD account of the new user in the search field, click the magnifying glass icon and check the Groups tab

Hi Peter,
I have a similar question:
I am trying to find out is the relationship between AD Group and users in that group: who are in the AD group and their usage. Now I see the user and group on QMC Users tab. Is there a .PGO file for further analysis?
Also, just to confirm, if I have 5 users in the AD Group, and 5 Named CALs will be taken through dynamic CAL assignment once they all open QVW on Access Point?
Thanks!
Hi Crystle,
Can the user SEE the document in the access point?
If so, what message/ error is displayed when they try and open it?
Andy
