Virtual memory exceeding 30 GB (gigabytes)

Hi,

I have a qvw file of 300 MB and that's the only one hosted on the Windows server. I am not able to understand why does the QVS.exe need to use 30GB of virtual memory (as shown in the task manager) ?

Is it normal for a qlikview application to occupy such a large memory? Have people observed that QlikView indeeds consumes large memory or is it more to do with the size of my QVW file - 300MB ?

Thanks...

The size of your qvw document on disk is more or less irrelevant, it's the data model, the sheet objects and the uniqueness of data that matters. But I would say that 300 MB on disk to 30 GB in memory is pretty good work. 😉

How much does the document take in memory if it is preloaded alone? How many users are accessing the document?

sorry, I didnt understand. This document alone is loaded on the Qlikview server. not sure, will check and let you know about the concurrent users...

P.S. we have around 350 used up CALs....

300 MB QVW application perform good on 30 GB QVS.

check your data modelling and expression you used in chart.

ziangi99: If you are having 350 users in you document, 30 GB is not very surprising. User behavior results in cache, and on a unoptimal data model, that can cause large memory usage. Are you using dynamic reduction?

sorry Stefan for the late reply. I was just not aware of this feature...

thanks for the same. However, I don't use this technique in my QVW file.
