Webserver on multiple NICs

QV11.2

No IIS

I have QlikView Webserver installed on computer XYZ.

Computer XYZ has multiple NICs:

xxx.xxx.xxx.1 is on the NIC named George

xxx.xxx.xxx.2 is on the NIC named Fred

DNS entry for XYZ is xxx.xxx.xxx.1

F5 entry for XYZ is xxx.xxx.xxx.2

How can I get the WebServer to listen either on both IP addresses, or xxx.xxx.xxx.2?

Hi Richard,

The webserver should automatically pick up both IP-addresses. Is there not a DNS entry for both IP-addresses? A computer can have its computername/FQDN stored by two IP-addresses. Your DNS rules can rule which one should be the primary.

If you want to loadbalance (e.g. round-robin) in front of the QVWS, you need a third-party tool or a DNS solution allowing this.

Regards,

Erik

Erik,

I apologize for not having the exact information needed:

DNS Name XYZ is on xxx.xxx.xxx.1

DNS Name QlikView is on xxx.xxx.xxx.2

The QlikView address does not respond.

Does it work if you enter the IP-address to the machine and access the server that way?

It works using the machine name, it does not work when accessing via the F5 address.

Can we rule out the F5 software by only using DNS?

Does it work using the IP-address to the second NIC?

Eric,

We found the issue to be with the IP addresses assigned to the NICs incorrectly; sorry I missed this discussion.

Additionally, this piece of information came to me via email.

Netsh http add iplisten ipaddress=
