What does DSC (directory service connector) do?

What does DSC (Directory Service Connector) do in qlikview?

QVWS and QVS are running but DSC is shown as disconnected. What effects would this have?

Hi Venkatesh,

The DSC is used to keep track of the users and do all management tasks that involve users, for example, license assigment, either you use DMS (a custom directory) or Windows Active Directory. The main effect of having it disconnected is being unable to use the QEMC, assign licenses, perform reloads with section access in some cases, schedule tasks and so.

In all cases, all QlikView services must be up and running in order to get the Server running correctly.

  Thanks for the response. While DSC was down, we were trying to assign CALs but could not do so. Now, it makes sense.
