What kind of rights are required to connect active directory, rights in terms of Permission

We configured the active directory and assigned a user, but when the user is using their domain user and password, it is not able to access the dashboard - there is no error appearing

Client is saying to provide them with a specific user right. so my ques is does Qlik use any specific user right to access the dashboard from the access point.?

Have they been allocated a license?  Are you using named user, session, document licenses?

"...it is not able to access the dashboard..." can mean various things. Is your user

  1. able to load the AccessPoint in his/her browser?
  2. seeing any document thumbnails in the AP or none at all?
  3. able to see the thumbnail of the document that cannot be opened?
  4. able to click that particular thumbnail, and nothing happens?
  5. able to click that particular thumbnail, but blank screen is displayed?

QlikView assigns rights depending on your licenses (Publisher or not, Enterprise Edition or SBE) and the configuration in QMC. Maybe you can shed a little light on your current QlikView architecture?

Does a user require any specific rights (in active directory) to login QilkView server ?

No.

But I don't think you are asking the right question. A QlikView Server is just another Windows machine, so every login into the QlikView Server is handled by Active Directory.

But that doesn't automatically give you access to any and all documents.
