Hi dodo,

You haven't mentioned if Publisher was working under IIS, I am also assuming you have followed the installation notes in the Publisher Reference Manual? So first of all are you trying the correct url i.e. http://localhost/control-panel/default.aspx?

I had a similar problem and it was caused by having the .Net 1 and .Net 2 frameworks installed on the same machine. The solution for me was to uninstall .Net Framework 1 and then reset the .Net Framework 2 installation back to 64 bit mode with the following lines run from the command prompt.

Turn .Net 2 64 bit mode on:
cscript %SYSTEMDRIVE%\inetpub\adminscripts\adsutil.vbs SET W3SVC/AppPools/Enable32bitAppOnWin64 0
followed by reset of .Net 2 installation:
c:\windows\Microsoft.Net\Framework64\<your version>\aspnet_regiis -i

You may have to restart the server after making this change.

I hope this helps.

thanks rod for your answer.

did you realy seccess to install the publisher with the qv http service ?

for your question , NO on this machine the iis was never intalled.

i checked if .net is intalled on the machine, i didnt see any of it in the "uninstall program"

from there i assome i should uninstall .net1 . but i also list the directory

c:\windows\microsoft.net and i found there 2 directories framework and framework64.

does it mean that the .net is installed on the machine ?

also i looked on the config.xml file of the qv http server and i didnt saw any extention of type "aspx"

how it should handle of these requests ?

any help will be greate!!

thanks again .

Hi doron,

I have mislead you. I looked back at a couple of my test sites and they use the QV http service for the web server only. On the site that uses Publisher I have relied on IIS.

Aplogies for the confusion. I have also checked the manuals and the server reference manual for 8.5 specifically mentions that ASP pages are not supported by the built-in web server. Also, IIS is a documented prerequisite for Publisher.

If you want to install Publisher then I think your next step is to install IIS.
