Select the chart (just click on it) and press Ctrl+Shift.. You should be able to drag and drop legends as per your wish... Play with the settings in Presentation tab under the header Legends... See if you can achieve what you want.

Can you please post the image of your pie chart

There is a away of doing that just do CTRL + SHIFT and drag the legend to the bottom as your wish or resize it as your desire
