how to swap a qvw on the server ??

Hi,

I have a qvw on the production server . I have created another qvw which is tested and has to be replaced with the current qvw.

what are the precautions that i have to take in order to make the swap successful.

Do i need to first remove the document cals and then migrate the new qvw ??????

If anybody could help me with proper steps .

Regards,

Nadeem

Re: how to swap a qvw on the server ??

If the document name is exactly the same, CALs will be fine, and the reload tasks as well.  It is safe to override the old file with a new one.  The only nuance - if you replace the file while the reload process is running, the reloading old file will override the new file.

just stop if any schedules are runinng, keep the new qvw file name ass same as old file. take the backup of old file and override old file with new one.

Good point.  Disabling scheduled tasks will prevent the "backward override".
